Men aren’t willing to ask for help when they’re struggling with addiction because of what they feel like somebody else might say. That’s my biggest concern for people in our community.

So if I see someone who’s struggling, I’m going to give them a card or connect them to a resource to get whatever help they need. If somebody sees that you care, they’re going to be more willing to participate in a recovery program.

The biggest myth is that a person who’s using drugs can just get over it. That’s not true. It’s a process, and once you start, it’s a lifelong process. No one can do this by themselves. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
