Unfortunately, there are a lot of myths in the Black community about how to reverse an overdose. That comes from the fact that we didn’t always have access to Naloxone (Narcan®), and we didn’t have access to treatment, so people just learned how to survive.

One thing I hear a lot is that there wasn’t treatment or money behind this issue until it hit the white community. And historically, that’s true. But let’s activate and use those resources now that we have them. 

Narcan® works really well. It’s the most reliable, most effective way to reverse an overdose, and, more importantly, to save a life.
